I have found that there are basically two ways to prepare for the CSET test.  You can study the CSET subject data or you can prepare by learning and mastering the CSET test content and format. Like me, you may hope to gain certification in multiple subjects. Absorbing the wealth of subject data that may be covered on the CSET exam could lead to brain cell burn out. There is more data than one could possibly hope to retain.

One must not only have knowledge within the subject matter, but must also know how to apply that knowledge in the CSET test format.  This is where the difference lies in the CSET test preparation tools available for your use.

Intelligence Quotient Is Not The Issue

How intelligent I am or my capacity for attaining knowledge was not the issue. I graduated cum laude, so I knew I was smart. You can't graduate with a degree in education if you are incapable of learning and processing data. However, I found there is a great difference. You can have the capacity to learn and have difficulty applying the material learned in the classroom. The same is true when taking the CSET test.

A study guide that helps you decipher contextual clues in the question format is the key to passing the CSET on your first try. Having test coaches who know the CSET format and the material will be the greatest help when you prepare for performing under pressure. I know it was an optimum solution for me.   The coaches provided the guidance I needed to apply the knowledge I had attained to the CSET test format. That's what gave me the edge for passing and obtaining my certification.

Know The CSET Test Content And How To Apply It

I have found that almost every educator will agree that in life, you have to have not only the knowledge, but also know how to apply that knowledge to real situations. We have seen college graduates who have attained a level of expertise in subject matter fail their first attempts at the CSET test. Educators who have longevity in the teaching professional will relay that many students know the material, but when they sit for an exam, they can't seem to apply that knowledge.
